Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it, and how you can control it. It is written to meet the requirements of Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
Person in charge
David Jumeau operates this website and is the person in charge of protecting personal information. To reach me about your privacy, use the contact page.
Information I collect
- Contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
- User accounts: your name, your email address and your password, which is stored in hashed form. Accounts exist only for people I invite; there is no public registration.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser details, which are recorded with your session.
Why I collect it
- To read and reply to your messages.
- To sign you in and give you access to the areas of the site your account allows.
- To keep the site working and secure, and to remember your language.
Cookies
This site only uses cookies it needs to work. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- Language: remembers your language choice for 30 days.
- Session: keeps your visit working and expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
- Security (XSRF-TOKEN): protects forms against forged requests and expires after 2 hours.
- Remember me: set only if you tick this box when signing in, and lasts up to 400 days.
Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that host this site and deliver its email, and only as needed for those services, or when the law requires it. These providers may be located outside Quebec. Before using one, I assess whether your information will be adequately protected.
Links to social networks such as LinkedIn or GitHub lead to sites with their own privacy policies.
How long I keep it
I keep contact messages for as long as I need them to answer you, and account information until the account is closed. I then destroy or anonymize the information, unless the law requires me to keep it.
Security
I use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and limited access. If a privacy incident presents a risk of serious injury, I will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Your rights
You may ask me to:
- access the personal information I hold about you;
- correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to its use;
- delete it when it is no longer needed or was collected improperly;
- receive it in a structured, commonly used format.
I will reply in writing within 30 days. To make a request, use the contact page.
If you are not satisfied with my reply, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (opens in a new tab).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
